Much more fun to read from book one but can be read in any order.The Kilcannons are a large Irish family. They own the largest dog training facility in North Carolina. Daniel is the father of the group, the love of his life, Annie, passed several years ago. His mother, the one that started it all still lives in the big house with Daniel. All but a couple of the children are still single. Daniel has made it his mission to marry off all his children. So far he is batting a 1,000.It is Christmas and the clan, all except for his youngest son serving in Afghanistan, has gathered to celebrate Christmas eve, midnight mass, and then a big dinner. There is the addition of a little Jack Russel that has just been rescued and is getting a going over in the kennel before it goes to its forever home. As the clan gathers, family by family, the oldest granddaughter comes running into the house announcing that Jack Frost, the Jack Russell has escaped from the kennel and is lost out in the freezing weather with snow on the ground.No dog gets lost on the farm. All the adults gather coats and gloves to go find the pup. As the couples search the farm each one has a little story of their own. Daniel is feeling down because Christmas was Annie's favorite time of year. He is constantly talking to her asking for help with finding the pup and to bring him comfort,.Nothing is going as planned. Christmas seems to be ruined. But then the surprise happens. Everything happens for a reason and a reason for everything. This is a fun, loving story at Christmas. Miracles do happen. I found the story to be very entertaining and loving. A great read and I definitely recommend it as well as all the other books in this series. If you love dogs and a big family that loves dogs, you will certainly enjoy this series.I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this writer. If I wasn’t already in love with Daniel and his Kilcannon clan then Santa Paws Is Coming To Town would have tipped me over the edge into true love. As it is I simply melted at this Christmas gathering of the Kilcannon family and their absolute devotion to their four legged friends.Little Jack Frost, a puppy who may have been abused and was definitely dumped as not wanted, is missing He’d been brought to Waterford Farms to heal, learn and hopefully find his own forever home – but the little rascal has given them the slip and he’s out in the cold, with a storm heading in on Christmas Eve.. Everyone goes into high alert to mount a puppy rescue effort – absolutely everyone. They’ll find this little lost puppy or their name isn’t Kilcannon.Santa Paws Is Coming To Town put a smile on my face, and maybe a few tracks of happy tears as well. While this is a short Christmas novella it certainly is packed full of love, faith and Christmas joy. We’ll get a taste of a Kilcannon Christmas, memories of the past and a love that never dies. We’ll also get the chance to meet up with the couples we’ve met so far, along with a touch of what may be coming soon. Everyone gets in on this one and it is pure family love, antics and devotion to the animals they all love. I won’t give a thing away – but that ending. I’ll admit it, I did some crying… and you will, too.If you’re in the mood for a story that will life your heart, invite you into a special family’s Christmas celebration and give you a hint of what is to come in this series – then Santa Paws Is Coming To Townshould be on your own Christmas list. Roxanne St. Claire has delivered the best early Christmas gift. I loved the novella. Was so sad that it was only a novella, and therefore too short. The novella takes place on Christmas Eve at the Kilcannon Family home at Waterford Farms. As all the Kilcannons and the extended family arrive to celebrate Christmas Eve, a new rescue puppy, “Jack Frostâ€, goes missing while getting groomed by Darla. Everyone breaks off in pairs and goes off in search of Jack Frost. Molly and Prudence share a bittersweet moment when Pru asks about her father as they search for the puppy. Liam and Andi discuss baby names and dream of their future home at Waterford Farms. Shane and Chloe and Garrett and Jessie all dream about their futures. Unfortunately, no one finds Jack Frost. Daniel is very worried about the puppy in the cold and becomes very melancholy. He misses Anne so much at Christmas, it was her favorite holiday and he tries to keep all of her traditions alive for his family. Jack Frost is eventually found by a surprise guest that most knew about, except for Daniel. It was a wonderful ending, with lots of tears! Cannot wait for Molly’s story, “Bad to the Boneâ€.
