This book is sort of a scam. If your interested in pathophysiology then yes, I am a college student and found this book useless. I have talked to many many people and they have all found this book useless. There are test banks that will help you and there are workbooks that will help you. The text is not something that will probably help you. They will just keep changing the editions to continually screw the college student for many years to come.
I use this for school, it does not have page numbers so I can reference it. When I scroll pages it jumps ahead 5+ pages making it impossible to read. I am so disappointed and cannot believe someone would even sell this. I don't think I have any options. Can I get any help with this order?
The great thing about this book is that it is full of information and may make me a good reference for a few years.The bad thing about this book is that it is full of information, and if you are using it for an independent study or online course, the chapters in no way help you understand the material or prioritize what is most important for clinical work or for learning the material for any other reason other than rote memorization practice. They read like a summary of journal articles.
I had to get this book for nursing school. I found a PDF of the book for free but then I got frustrated because the page numbers were way off. Then I decided to buy the kindle version because I thought maybe it would help me in the future anyways - and what do you know, page numbers were way off just like the PDF. Thankfully I was still able to return the kindle version. My last result was to just rent it for $24, I was not willing to spend a lot of money on a book that caused me so much frustration. It was a good decision. It got me through my class, stress-free. It's kind of hard to understand sometimes, but otherwise it was fine. Good pictures. There's better patho books out there to buy and learn from for your own knowledge; I wouldn't bother buying this one. Hope this helps.
My professor raves about the book and advises taking it to work, but the text wasn’t that impressive to me (working on my BSN after LPN, RN degrees- I’ve been around and read better books ) explanations tend to run on and at times are overly complex for the average reader.
Wish I could give it 0 stars. The editors need to be fired. It's obvious no person in charge of writing/editing this book has any English skills. The grammar is terrible. The word order is wrong and confusing. The material in this is difficult enough as it is. No one needs confusing sentence structures and run on sentences making it impossible to follow. Major fail.
This book is poorly written. I am using it for my masters program and it failed to go into as much detail as even my undergrad pathophysiology book did. Disappointed with this book.
What a shame that this very good textbook is being sold only in soft cover. It would be an excellent reference book to keep but for the cover, which is inadequate for the size of the book and thus makes it awkward to read or keep on a bookshelf and also makes it very much liable to becoming damaged. For this reason alone, this book is not a keeper. I will be returning it and renting instead.
